Washington, D.C. earned the nickname "Chocolate City" due to its historically large Black population and its rich cultural influence, particularly in music, politics, and activism. The term became widely popular in the 1970s when the legendary funk band Parliament released the song Chocolate City, celebrating D.C. as a hub of Black excellence.

The phrase "Summer Madness" often refers to the carefree, energetic, or sometimes chaotic atmosphere that comes with the summer season—hot weather, wild adventures, and a break from routine.
